Lad Lane, Dublin 2
Lad Lane is a development of 25 luxury A Energy Rated apartments located within a short distance of St. Stephen's Green in Dublin City Centre. Each apartment has direct access to a private terrace that is enclosed by a precast concrete wall offering a sense of seclusion from the neighbouring apartment. These terraces also impose a striking visual element when viewing the building's elevation in its entirety.
When considering the thermal bridging impacts of these large terraces, the designers were faced with a considerable challenge. They required a system that could be easily precast into the concrete slabs; could cope with high moment and shear forces, and most importantly, could minimise the heat loss through the slabs. At this point, they decided that the Schock Isokorb balcony thermal break could fulfill these requirements.
